China Interested in Investing in Electric Vehicles in Bangladesh
Chinese investors conveyed this interest in a meeting held at the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) conference room on Sunday in November 10.
Present at the meeting chaired by BIDA's Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun were business representatives from China's Nyams Motors Limited. At the meeting, Chinese investors proposed plans to establish a lithium battery production center, a solar panel manufacturing plant, and a satellite communication system in Bangladesh through joint ventures.
Wongtik Benjamin, Chairman of Wellbe Communication Technology Limited and 'Beijing Hairun Haoushen Technology Limited', said that Bangladesh is a large and reliable market and it is easy to export from here to the rest of the world. Currently, many battery-powered vehicles are running in Bangladesh, but most of these batteries are not technologically advanced. Keeping in mind that the number of electric vehicles will increase significantly in the future world, we have decided to jointly invest in Bangladesh to establish a high-quality lithium battery production center, a solar panel manufacturing plant to solve the electricity problem, and a satellite communication system for advanced communication.
Brigadier General Shafikuzzaman (Retd.), Managing Director of Nyams Motors Limited, said at the event that their goal is not just to make a profit, but also to contribute to Bangladesh's green technology and pollution-free development.
At the meeting, BIDA's Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun highlighted the investment benefits of investing in Bangladesh and said that BIDA is always committed to providing all investment services to investors. He said that we have a country officer for each country in the case of foreign investment, so that investors can quickly get investment services. At that time, he invited Chinese investors to invest in Bangladesh.
