Among the companies traded on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) during the last week, 164 companies are on the price increase list. On the other hand, prices of 182 companies fell. And the price of 50 remains unchanged. There are more companies on the falling price list than on the rising price list. However, the market capitalization has increased significantly as the share prices of large capitalization companies have increased.
On the last working day of the week, the market capitalization of DSE stood at Tk 6 lakh 62 thousand 951 crore after trading last Thursday, which was Tk 6 lakh 60 thousand 160 crore on the last working day of the previous week. In other words, the market capitalization has increased by 2 thousand 791 crores or 14.0 percent during the week. The market capitalization increased by Tk 655 crore or 14 percent in the previous week. In the previous week, the market capitalization increased by Tk 6,709 crore or 1.03 percent. Accordingly, the market capitalization of DSE increased by 10 thousand 155 crores in three consecutive weeks.
Apart from the increase in market capitalization, the price index also rose last week. The main price index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSEX) rose by 15.17 points (0.29 percent) last week. The index decreased by 37.12 points or (0.71 percent) in the previous week. It increased by 116.14 points (2.27 percent) in the previous week.
In addition to increasing the index, the speed of trading in the Dhaka Stock Exchange has also increased a lot. The stock was traded on an average of 348 million rupees per working day last week. In the previous week, the daily average transaction was more than 293 crore rupees. The average transaction volume per working day increased by 18.59 percent.
During the week, shares of Orion Infusion were the most traded in rupee terms on the Dhaka Stock Exchange. The company's shares traded on an average daily basis of Tk 21.4 crore, which is 6.05 percent of the total turnover. Robi's shares are in the second top position, which traded on an average of Tk 10 crore 79 lakhs per day. On the other hand, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation is in the third place, which averages Tk 10 crore 78 lakh per dayAlso, the list of top ten institutions in terms of transactions on this stock exchange of Bangladesh includes - City Bank, Rupali Bank, Fine Foods, Alif Industries, Sunlife Insurance, British American Tobacco and Lovelo Ice Cream respectively.
